Well said, he's made a situation where it is impossible for him to do his job - his position is untenableCaroleF wrote: 26 Jun 2021, 15:14
I have often thought that in general the many of the population seem to believe that their leaders should be held to a higher standard than themselves. I believe that Matt Hancock will find it difficult to stay in office because the media will replay constantly clips where he has criticised the wrong doing of others. It depends how much he, his family, the other family and probably also Boris is prepared to endure. If he does survive I would think he will find it hard each time he offers advice, or rules because the media will come back with querying why should people do as he says when he can't abide by rules himself.

Like others have said before, you post your views and expect everyone to agree with you, when challenged you go all ‘Huffy’ and say you don’t know why you bother then follow it up with half a dozen more posts. Give it and the rest of the forum a rest.

Do as I say rather than do as I do is a given throughout the ages. Statesmen all over the World tell their peoples what to do while getting on with their own lives. I used to tell my kids what to do but it doesn't follow that I will do exactly the same.
Hancock is in a bubble with Gina, both have had the two jabs and neither is spreading the virus as may have been the case during the early days of the pandemic. My assessment is that there are zillions of folk out there ' playing away ' so it should make no difference that one of them happens to work for the Government of the day.
Sorry but I simply cannot get excited about the hysteria that some seem to revel in.
I bet she's had more than two

Inevitable
I wonder if he will be replaced with Hunt, who has been sniping from the sidelines for quite a while.
If i was Johnson, I’d publicly appoint him out of spite

Well, the matter wasn’t closed after all.
Johnson needs to appoint a replacement fast. Another jump in positive tests today. They need to get a grip. The vaccine alone is not stopping this

I was told by an NHS surgeon that Hunt was the worst Health Secretary ever.

Be careful what you wish for comes to mind. Many of the problems at the beginning of the pandemic could be laid at his door.

So give us a clue. Tell us now what you would do if you got the job on Monday, rather than telling us in 3 months time what whoever actually gets it did wromg.Gill W wrote: 26 Jun 2021, 18:44Johnson needs to appoint a replacement fast. Re: Current Affairs
I think that comment is a little unfair Sir Merv…. Gill has from the outset given us her opinion as to where this pandemic was heading way before the three-month time frame you have suggested.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 26 Jun 2021, 18:57

In my opinion and without favour I think it fair to say Gill has been proven right on numerous occasions.
