Re: Last One to Post Wins
Was supposed to rain quite heavy yesterday afternoon, we ended up sunbathing. Good old weather forecasting.
Today is wet and miserable though as per forecast. It didn’t stop us going into Sidmouth though.

We’re in training
We often look at the hotel Riviera on the seafront when walking pass thinking how nice it looks. I looked online at their tariffs (GULP). It must only be the very well off oldies that can afford to stay there.

I’ll befriend them just long enough to get a mention in their will before they croak it. Knowing my luck it’ll be the funeral costs

Re: Last One to Post Wins
We have just been advised that we have been bounced off Britannia cruise B123 because they are closing off certain areas of the ship and there are no other accessible cabins available. Some other accessible passengers have also had their bookings cancelled, I do hope P&O are not being discriminatory.

Disappointing I’m sure John, but could also be a blessing in disguise.

That's a bit unfortunate John, but as Stephen say may turn out for the best. I hope they gave you a little sweetener.

Disappointing but I doubt it's discrimination. It's what they've been doing to people of all abilities while they've been reducing the cabins used to enable deep cleaning and keeping cabins out of use on rotation to.protect against Covid.

Re: Last One to Post Wins
Accessible cabins in the mid/fwd section are only on 2 of the 7 decks, so choosing one of the other 5 might possibly have resulted in no cancellations at all. So even if not deliberate discrimination, it shows a level of crass stupidity from P&O.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 10 Sep 2021, 11:52Disappointing but I doubt it's discrimination. Re: Last One to Post Wins
Isolation of cabins is all important in an epidemic / pandemic ... they should not even consider who the occupants will be at a later date. Safety of the passengers rules supreme.

Re: Last One to Post Wins
When you mentioned they were closing off certain sections of the ship John I assumed it was to do with a COVID or norovirus outbreak and they were taking restrictive precautions.

No that's not the case, our cruise was 4 weeks away, so any quarantine would have been long over. It appears that they are moving, or increasing, the original quarantine cabin area that would be used if an infection occurred on a cruise.Stephen wrote: 10 Sep 2021, 15:23

Re: Last One to Post Wins
If so, would presumably need to include some accessible cabins so that passengers such as yourselves could use them if required to quarantine. So as I said before very disappointing but not discrimination surely?towny44 wrote: 10 Sep 2021, 15:39

We have so far escaped the heavy rain just a light shower and thunder but still very warm. We do need some rain really. The temperatures are set to fall but there is still time for summer to put on an encore.

Re: Last One to Post Wins
It was horrendous driving back home from Devon yesterday. It was all good until we reached the car park (M25) and caught up with the heavy rain, and I mean heavy as in hammering it down practically all the way until we came off the A12. One of the worst journey we’ve had. And the amount of idiots with no lights on was unbelievable.

It's dry here and very warm. I'm at football and it's t shirt and shorts weather.

We have rain, not a lot but a steady drizzle. Having moved back home Sunday, after 15 months at the coast, I was glad I cut the lawns yesterday.

Miserable grey day here with sporadic rain. Still, on the up side, car number two passed it's MOT, and so it should've being it's first one.

Motor bike overtook me in a 50mph A S Camara area on Sunday, stone chipped the screen, luckily below my vision of view. Had the bods in to repair, can not see it now. Did not want to leave it as from a small chip big cracks appear.
