Who was actually responsible for defining and setting the standards for the cladding? Was it the construction industry, scientific bodies, government or who?

I see Singapore is to stop footing the medical bills for those who remain unvaccinated by choice.

Re: Current Affairs
So what is the problem surrounding MP Sir Geoffrey Cox, he says he has not broken any rules so maybe it's the amount of money he receives for his services. The electors of Torridge and West Devon who were interviewed on TV did not seem to know he had gone to the Caribbean, but Sir Geoffrey has said that he has attended to his constituents interests as well as his other job. A distraction from the Cop meeting not required at this time.

Re: Current Affairs
Just heard from a relative who works for a national PR firm in London that the Queen has been rushed into hospital again.
Cannot find anything on any news channel as yet though.

Re: Current Affairs
I know Twitter is derided, but one of the Downing Street photographers tweeted this morning that there was a rumour going around (and he stressed that it was a rumour) that the Queen had been taken to hospital.
So that's two separate sources, completely unconnected saying the same thing, so I think something is going on.

That’s actually the constituency that our business is in Ray.Ray B wrote: 10 Nov 2021, 14:28So what is the problem surrounding MP Sir Geoffrey Cox, he says he has not broken any rules so maybe it's the amount of money he receives for his services. Like all politicians, he gets mixed reviews depending on who you are speaking to.
For my part, I think it’s pretty bad form to leave most of the MP work to his staff while he concentrates on his law business.
Now, having said that, he has a pretty impressive majority that he didn’t inherit, so the majority seem to approve.
My local MP actually lives up the road from us and is very visible in the area.
At the last election, a few weeks before the vote day, all three major parties did not have a candidate.
It was very weird
The Labour and Libdem had to stand down because of damaging social media posts. Twitter I believe.
The sitting Tory decided not to stand again.
Selaine was a local councillor and teacher.
She stood, won and so far, has done an ok job.
She doesn’t seem to want to get on the promotion treadmill but that can of course change.
I actually voted for her and it was the first time in my life that I voted Tory.
Basically because I know her, she seems honest and of course getting Brexit done.

Lets hope it's not bad news.

They said last time she was in for preliminary tests. That implies the possibility of further tests. If the rumours are true let's hope it's just that. But we have to be realistic. We will not have her forever.

Breaking news BBC. The Queen has confirmed she will attend the Cenotaph remembrance service on Sunday. So if she did attend hospital today maybe "rushed to" was an overstatement. Hope so.

Everyone squeeze up a bit more, another 1000 were helped ashore from France on Thursday. We could do with a few storms to rough up the sea a bit, that will slow them down.
