Re: Current Affairs
Sadly, may parents lack the basic skills of bringing up a child, whether that be through their own upbringing or as in many cases their lack of intellect to coherently explain to a child what is acceptable behaviour and what is not. The only hope for these children is that schooling gives them a feeling of structured self-esteem which brings out the best in them.

I along with a couple of others on this forum have from the outset been saying what everyone should know by now…. “He just isn’t up to the job” …one cock up after another. As for his Healthcare bill he should have invested in a new spirit level if he thinks this is levelling up. Same old, same old.

Re: Current Affairs
I imagine there will be moves backstage to move him on. He achieved his goal of getting us out of the EU but once he starts to become a liability the Tory party will be looking to replace him.

As for levelling up I wonder how much longer it is going to take until the government realise that once you get to Manchester and Leeds there is still 100 miles and more of England whose needs are just as great.

Re: Current Affairs
He has been a liability to this country ever since he made a career out of being a liar and making things up - that goes right back to his bendy bananas stories (which some still believe). There is no 'levelling up' agenda, he is just rounding everything down to the lowest common denominator, It is like when he tried to placate the Northern Ireland MLAs by resurfacing the old stories about a bridge between Northern Ireland and the mainland ... I hope he started with the story 'stop me if you have heard this one before', I remember it being discussed when I was at primary school, it was never ever going to happen. The worst thing though is that he surrounds himself with 'yes' men so there is nobody there to hold him accountable.Onelife wrote: 23 Nov 2021, 08:31I along with a couple of others on this forum have from the outset been saying what everyone should know by now…. “He just isn’t up to the job” …one cock up after another. In almost everything he does he is the wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time ... one exception being HIGNFY.

Will anyone be organizing a coach trip for us all to go to Pepper Pigland?

Labour will have a field day tomorrow at PMQ’s
I would have thought he would have an aid/secretary that should have made sure he had all the required paperwork in the correct order before addressing the forum. They’re probably looking for another job this morning, or should be.

However bad you think Boris is, he is far superior to that hypocritical little toad of a lawyer that is masquerading as leader of the labour party.

If anybody needs additional motivation to get jabbed.
I was amazed last week when my elderly neighbour told me that her middle aged son in law had still not been vaccinated.
I asked her why and she replied that he really can't be bothered but ..... wants to go to America next year for a holiday, so if it's a requirement, he'll get it done beforehand.
As you can imagine, both she and her daughter are furious with him, but it doesn't appear to make a difference.

Re: Current Affairs
Me neither. No matter how bad the Tories are I would not trust any of the other lot any further than I would throw them. As for Starmer it's not what he says it's what he doesn't say which is worrying. He is certainly not one to be trusted and if we are truthful all politicians tell porkies.

Re: Current Affairs
I was astonished to read yesterday of an EU official blaming Astra Zeneca for the current rise in cases in Europe, because, he said, they were slow delivering on the EU contract.
He conveniently forgets that several large countries didn't actually want the AZ jab. The rollout stalled in France, Germany and Italy when they recommended that it should not be used for people over 65, citing insufficient data on its efficacy for older people. But it's not their fault apparently.
Whatever else you might thing of the EU their initial handling of vaccination was a masterclass in incompetence. Boris and Co are far from perfect but thank goodness they saved us from the self-serving short-sighted idiots in Brussels.

Re: Current Affairs
If the west is like the east, then the leveling up really did bypass us. The east mostly return Tories, so why even think of throwing money our way, and if labour gets in, no good trying to butter up the east, as history shows Tories will normally be returned. A no win situation.Ranchi wrote: 23 Nov 2021, 15:44…& at time of posting we are still the UK so it’s a good couple of hundred miles further to the north coast. As for levelling up I wonder how much longer it is going to take until the government realise that once you get to Manchester and Leeds there is still 100 miles and more of England whose needs are just as great.

Strange that the media can always find migrants on a French beach about to set sail but the French police don't seem able to.
