Arvia naming

Post by barney »

We watched the Arvia naming ceremony live at 7 o’clock last night.
It was a bit amateurish if I’m absolutely honest.
Olly Murs signing on the beach to dignitaries.
Nicole Sherzinger singing around the pool.
She was pretty good to be fair.
The P&O chairman was a bit robotic and Captain Camby barely featured although he probably has the best personality.
The ship looked amazing.
We are looking forward to trying her for the first time next year.
It’s certainly different to any ship we have used previously.

Same here Barney.

I wasn’t going to bother and wish I hadn’t but Mrs S talked me into it ;)

As you say, very Amauri, Amorite………not vey good.

Apart from the weather I much preferred the Adonia naming ceremony me and a few others on here attended back in 2011 when it was just invited guests.

It wasn't bad, a bit of ad libbing as the 'Godmother' kept everyone waiting as she adjusted herself, but on the hole, not a bad effort.
What was professional was the broadcast, very slick.
How was the audience selected for the on ship and beach ceremony..
No doubt Stephen will soon be inundated for requests for Compo forms.
Don't worry, be happy

Well I just watched it and after all the hype wasn't overly impressed. It just didn't seem to hang together and the sound mix was shocking. There didn't seem to be any atmosphere on the beach. I felt for Sarah Cox. She seemed to be struggling to whip up any reaction from the small audience.

Looking at the video It appears that Sara Cox was holding her own but the rest of it seemed very ad-lib ….they could have done with a bit of champagne flute smashing to liven things up a bit  :D

Let's start building a list now in readiness.

Of course there will be one or two that we can't mention that will be missing from the list. Onelife being one of them. Oops

If you do Stephen, make sure everyone bring plenty of money. I hate hanging around the bar waiting for someone to buy me a drink. 😂

You can get into trouble for that if your not careful Ray.

I’ve already nominated Merv as bar-steward.

Actually Ray there's a pint here with your name on it. But if you're not here by 6 I may have to drink it for you. Wouldn't want you having flat beer.
