Don't worry about the camera. Though Stephen does enjoy a quick flash.

Re: Change of itinerary
Well that was weird. Cunard use the same online check-in routine as P&O including uploading a photo, which I did for Trish and I. At actual check-in in Southampton they decided they didn't like Trish's photo and they took and uploaded another.
Today we disembarked for the first time and oddly when Trish scanned her voyage card to get off the photo I originally took was still there. Even odder when I scanned mine I'd got the new Trish pic they took! So clearly at Southampton they uploaded the new one to the wrong card!
But here's the really odd bit. When you first board they use the paper Boarding Pass I'd printed out, which has the same number as the cruise card. So when I boarded they must have seen Trish's picture! So someone wasn't paying attention. We're quite distinctive. I have a beard, Trish doesn't!
Later we checked in at our muster station using our actual Voyage cards after we'd collected them from the cabin and again nobody noticed.
Great security eh?

Good. Thanks for making that clear just in case we should bump into you Merv.

Re: Change of itinerary
Quite a few years ago (on Aurora) there was confusion between security photos for my (at the time) 95 year old mother in law and myself. She was about 5’2” and I am male and well over 6’. By that time in her cruising career she didn’t go ashore. The rest of the family went ashore at each port. It wasn’t until the third port that I was pulled up as not matching ‘my’ security photo. It was all sorted out with a quick visit to the bureau where new photos were taken of MiL & myself. At the next port I was pulled up again. They had taken new photos but linked them to the wrong passenger. After another trip to the bureau it was all sorted. In time for our visit to Gibraltar, our penultimate port.

Re: Change of itinerary
Happened to me a few years ago on Arcadia. I was travelling with a female friend. Then we had photos taken at check in. At the first port we got off to go on an excursion, no problem. Then when we returned to Arcadia, my friend went first, then me and it was only because I looked at the screen that I saw they'd got my friend's photo on it. So they'd let us off with the wrong photos on our cards, let my friend back on and were going to let me back if I hadn't spotted it. Red faces and the Officer who was around took us both back to Reception to have new cards issued. Yes we were both female but my friend had grey hair and was about 12 years older than me, not very flattering that she was apparently mistaken for me, or I for her come to that!

Re: Change of itinerary
Visit to Dun Laoghaire cancelled due to swell being too much for tenders. Now where's that Compo form?
(On the plus side, adding one non UK port, which we've not set foot in, to the itinerary, has legally allowed them to open the Casino and rake in cash for the while cruise, so it's not all bad news. Cynical, moi?)

Re: Change of itinerary
A double, every night.
Meanwhile the Captain and his mates have secured early entry to Liverpool so after our unexpected sea day we'll be docking this evening instead of tomorrow morning. A night out in a Scouse bar then. See you all there.
And, after 10 hours the queue of Yanks seeking Compo at the Purser's Office is starting to subside. Just twice round the Atrium now.

Don't forget to check all the lifeboats and the anchor are still there when you return to the ship.
Have a good time in the 'pool' this evening.
