It's much the same as this Christmas, in fact. The Canaries on Aurora but with a couple of different ports including Agadir on Boxing Day, which should be good. 14 nights in all and taking in the fireworks at Madeira - it'll be old hat by than as we are doing that for the first time this year!

I rest my case - another very good reason for getting away at Christmas. We decided to give Arcadia a miss again, though, as people dying at the table does tend to put you off your turkey !

No, this is the first time we will have doubled up. Last year we did a Transatlantic Caribbean and in the past we have mixed up the Med and Canaries and varying durations and ships.

We found that, whislt we like Arcadia as a ship, it is hopeless at Christmas with all the atmosphere of Rochdale on a Saturday afternooon! Aurora is just the right balance for us but it is unfortunate that it is doing the same area in consecutive years. In the past they have alternated itineraries. No matter, the weather should be half decent, all being well, there a reone or two new ports to us and we know the ship is OK so, as I said, it is better than vegging out at home

Nah, it's all the stress of juggling me holiday bookings (4 cruises booked now) with planting me 'taters and peas, finishing the digging I didn't get done whilst Mrs C was incapacitated after her hip-hop and then there's fitting in the flower demos......

Did I tell you, we turn into fully fledged Goldies halfway through the Britain and Ireland cruise next June. Might even try to fit in a cheapo 7-nighter so we can be greeted on board Adonia like the royalty we are
