None of them, as it 'appens ! There's one grab-a-granny cruise on Arcadia this July, 2 Christmases on Aurora and a trip round Britain and Ireland on the tug boat Adonia next year

Just had the sales lady on from the house builder, all is going swimmingly, mortgage sorted, just need the solicitor to get a wiggle on and happy days

you forget they only get paid when we move, exchange of contracts 4-5 weeks max, is that a wiggle or what?

I know what work is involved for them - it can all be done in a matter of hours. They like to drag things out to maintain this mystique that they are indispensible. But yes, I agree that 4 to 5 weeks is a serious wiggle for a solicitor !!

from putting down a reservation fee to moving in should be less than 8 weeks,
everything is done via e mail and phone and post
we have all the legal stuff at the solicitors ,all the financial stuff is with the financial advisors, and the house is 85% built
all in all none to shabby

It is so much easier with a new build - any potential glitches should have been ironed out before they start. Bit of a worry that your house is 15% short though. Which bit is missing ?!

they are doing all the internals, kitchen, bathrooms etc and second fix stuff, then it is done
we even get a new house demonstartion before we move in

That's handy - does it go something along the lines of "this is a house, here is a door, these white things on the walls are light switches and when it gets dark you press them so you can see to count your money, this is a tap and you can use it to wash every year if you want" I suppose it is Yorkshire and they are not used to living in real houses with running water and electricity

dear Dark one and Lady Dark, thank you for putting yourself in the poorhouse to buy your huge new house, and then they explain how all the fancy stuff we dont need works, like the dishwasher, spa bath, rainfall shower, mood lighting etc.
then we go around finding all the faults , that they will put right before I give em a penny
