Scilly Isles today and of course it’s raining. We were booked on a trip to Tresco Gardens but we cancelled due to the weather.

Last nights diner service was much better, probably because we were on a table for two.
The ships entertainment team are excellent with one of the young ladies having a voice of an angel.
We were lucky when we went recently on Ambition.
The sun was out and the sea was calm.
The local tenders did a great job.
We enjoyed the day so much we’ve decided to go back for a few days.
There is a new high speed catamaran coming on the route soon so we’ll use that.
We have friends out there at the moment. He was born there.

We had one afternoon of sunshine out of the five days where we could sit out on the balcony. A shame as there were some lovely areas especially the tiered terraces. One outside bar area at the stern we’re hopeful or some custom yesterday. All set up with on crew member looking miserable and cold and not a chance of any takers. I was surprised they bothered.

We did come across the ice cream machine yesterday by the poo though which was very nice, especially with chocolate sauce on. It’s like a proper ice cream machine you see on the vans and you just help yourself either into a carton of cone.

Hi Lindsey.

Having tried it we enjoyed it.

I know some aren’t bothered but it was nice having the evening turn down service and chocci on your pillow.

A shame the weather was against us as we couldn’t enjoy the outdoor areas which were plentiful with comfy sunbeds and towels rolled up ready on top of each one.

Service and food we couldn’t fault, although I preferred the main dining room to the buffet especially at breakfast but that was just our personal choice.

Evening dining was equally pleasurable. There was non of this requesting a table for two only to be told sorry only six or eight table sizes available. If you were asked are you willing to share and you said no it wasn’t a problem and you were shown to a table for two. In fact we even asked if we could be changed to a different table for two on one occasion and it wasn’t a problem. Mind you we do tend to eat fairly early so it may be a little more difficult to accommodate table requests later in the evening.

The beauty of this type of cruise is literally everything is included, mind you you’re paying for it.
Would we do another, definitely depending on price and itinerary. In fact we gave our details for pre registration for summer 2026 while onboard. When you pre register you pay £90pp, then if you book it’s taken off your deposit, if you don’t book you get you money back. Win Win

We would have considered booking for 2025 but are already booked on Azura that year.

Any other info required Lindsey I’ll do my best to answer.

We preregistered for 2025 and when they called us got an early booking discount of 30% off our chosen cruise. A good deal we thought.

I'll remember that Merv.

Forgot to mention.

No biscuits in the cabin (worlds ended). You have to ask which we did and got a large packet of digestives which suited us. Other makes available.

The other thing is, when the cabin steward knocks on your door don't think the maintenance man has got the wrong cabin its just they're uniform looks the same. Personally I thought it looked a bit shabby. OK for fixing the plumbing but I would have thought something smarter would look better.

Thank you Stephen.
Did you receive your luggage labels in the post as its totally different to P and O where they ask you to download your travel documents.

Just booked 5 nights on Discovery for late June to include the Scilly Isles.
Got 25% discount.

That makes 3 with Saga this year.
April to Spain and France and a British Isles cruise late August.
The door to door transfers are a big plus for me coming on my tod from Swansea.

Paid the balance for the April cruise today.
