Icon of the Seas

Anyone see the programme last night about the world's biggest cruise liner?

She certainly seemed big and somewhat different. I wouldn't mind having a look around her, but there is no way that I would be going on a cruise on her - not with 7,500 passengers.

That's not what I think of as a Cruise Ship, more like a moveable Holiday Park with accommodation. I'm sure there's a better way of describing it but not as a Cruise Ship! Just my opinion of course.

Absolutely no chance.! I couldn’t imagine boarding a P&O ship and be faced with all that American greetings, if they started that it would be the end for me.!

I wouldn't mind a few days on the ship just for the experience but once would be enough,

We have only done 2 cruises on RC, one on Navigator a Voyager class ship, and one on Independence (Indy) the slightly bigger Freedom class, but we thoroughly enjoyed them both equally as much as we have enjoyed all our P&O cruises, and I keep hoping RC will homeport an Oasis class ship in Southport one summer before we get too old to cruise.
We watched yesterday's Icon OTS documentary and were impressed with the facilities, but more impressed with the service standards. I wonder if P&O drain and clean and sanitise all the hot tubs every night, as well as cleaning all the swimming pools, and show the same attention to cleaning the outdoor areas as RC do?
I realise that all this comes at a price, although our Indy cruise back in 2019 with our youngest Son and family was lower than we would have paid on Britannia.

I wonder if RC do as much cleaning when the cameras are not there!

Impressive looking ship but too in your face wow for us. Would be great with the grandchildren. But I wondered if it will look as good at full capacity as it did with zero passengers and then 5,000 on its Maiden cruise. I noticed the experienced cruisers said they'd booked all their restaurants in advance and wouldn't have got in when they wanted if they hadn't. And that is at reduced capacity. This great choice and flexibility of dining isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Hi Screwy, you may have noticed that my spelling/grammar leaves a lot to be desired, but I take the attitude that if members can’t work out what I intended posting, then they need to get a better education  :D
