P&O Ship Reviews
Came across this by chance this morning.
First off I'm just the messenger so if you don't agree don't have a pop at me please. Interesting though.

Hi Stephen, this popped up on Google the other day.
What surprised me was the position of Ventura,to high and Arcadia to low, but on the whole, what a load of cr@p.

No surprises there really although I agree with Ray: I'm surprised Arcadia came so low down the order. Cutbacks, lowering of standards, disinterested crew, behaviour of fellow passengers are all traits we experienced on our last cruise although it was cheap. Essentially you get what you pay for and if you are going to trim your prices something has to be sacrificed. Personally I prefer to spend a little more for some of the niceties we have come to expect from P&O.
It's interesting to read Portsmouth's review of Cunard's QA . I couldn't help but compare it to our experience of Cunard and then looking at our last cruise onboard Arvia. I ask how far are P&O prepared to let standards slip and explains why we are looking, along with others at other cruise lines. It's a great shame.

I was taught to be cautious

Foxy, it is sad to see how things have change at P & O, but one thing that cannot be taken away for all of us, is the memories and the good times that we have had. They will stay with us.
Don't worry, be happy

Oldbluefox......let me just say that whilst I had a great time on Queen Anne, I did hear onboard some people were not happy in the Britannia restaurant and the couple of times I went over to the Pursers desk to get a problem with the wi-fi sorted ( I somehow lost the Cunard app you click on ) there were some people having a complaint about something. Didn't affect me , and pursers desk were very helpful so my experience might be different from others.oldbluefox wrote: 12 Jan 2025, 11:04It's interesting to read Portsmouth's review of Cunard's QA . Re: P&O Ship Reviews
I'm due to be on Arcadia in June. I haven't been on her since June 2013. My sister-in-law is coming with me, it's her first cruise. It's occurred to me that I mustn't start comparing P&O today with what it was when I was on her before Covid, before Britannia, when things were different. It'll be interesting to see what she with her first cruise thinks of the whole experience. I have wondered whether this will be my last cruise with P&O, although I'd like to go back on Aurora one more time as John and I had so many happy times on her. Just for my interest I added up how many nights I've cruised with P&O, nowhere near the number some of you have done I would think. It's 350, including the four nights I did with my younger daughter in 2023. It was her first cruise and I think she was impressed, she certainly said that she hadn't realised how sociable cruising was and this was on Aurora so she was one of the younger passengers on board. The more I read about other lines I can see me thinking of Cunard or Saga. Maybe this is what Carnival want, us older cruisers to leave P&O to the young and the families. If that's so then what will happen to the longer cruises, the World cruises and the South American ones. I can't see any of the larger ships doing them and the young families that P&O seem to crave won't have the time or the money to do the longer cruises. Maybe once Aurora an Arcadia are gone these longer cruises will vanish too. Who knows.
