We were invited to a wedding on Artemis back in 2009. The couple had been together for quite a few years and we gathered that there was some sort of family disagreement so they decided they'd come on a cruise and get married. They asked the other six of us on the table to be their guests and got my husband to video the ceremony for them. They also asked that we all wear our formal wear so the men wore DJs and the women dressed in our finery. The ceremony was short but lovely. The bride had a lovely bouquet and there was music. After the ceremony the couple were taken off by the photographer to have photos taken at various places around the ship, including the Bridge. It was lunch time by now so the six of us decided we'd go to the Dining Room still in our finery. As I was on the way down a very well meaning lady tapped me on the arm and said, 'You don't need to wear formal dress to lunch dear, that's just for this evening.' I responded, 'That's very kind, but we've just been to a wedding!' She looked very confused. It was a very pleasant, rather boozy lunch even without the bridal couple there!

In the evening there was quite an entrance into the Dining Room. The Restaurant Manager made everyone wait until he thought most people were there - Artemis wasn't a very large ship - and we all stood and clapped the couple in. Our table had silver and pink balloons above it (balloons now banned) and little silver horseshoes scattered on the table. My lasting memories of that evening were of the couple leaving the restaurant, going up the stairs with the bridegroom holding the balloons from the table over his shoulder! We did see the photos afterwards which were lovely but the only thing was that the bride wore glasses with those lenses that darken when out in the sun. So the photos that were taken outside it looked as though the bride was wearing sunglasses. It was a lovely day though and a lovely memory.

Carole, something unexpected and turned the day into a special day to remember.
As for the react to light spectacles, it's something brides do not think about till they see the photos.
Something to remember if you're getting married and wearing spectacles. 😎
Don't worry, be happy
