Five times, my favourite ship, at least she looks like a ship and not a block of flats. If anyone likes traditional cruising then they'll like Aurora. I'm sorry you didn't David. I'd go back on her in a flash if it wasn't so difficult to get an evac chair and it wasn't so expensive to sail as a solo cruiser. Maybe if I can persuade one of my daughters to join me I may be back on her yet.

Only been on Aurora once and it didn't Wow us, it is far too bitty for us, with quite a few dead ends for wheelchair users, and the access to the open decks is not at all wheelchair friendly.

John, it may be as the ship is getting on in age, when it was built , they did not see disabilities as important as it is today.

While we were on Azura last week the cabin steward invited us to have a look around a C deck cabin for people with disabilities, it was change over day. I thought it looked quite impressive, a loverly bathroom to take a wheelchair.
If you have seen/used one of them , what is your opinion of them as a user yourself or a member of your family. As I said, they looked very good, but as I don't have need of one I may have missed the important bits.

We like Azura and Ventura, and you're right the accessible cabins are spacious with good sized bathrooms. The C deck cabins with the double depth balconys would be our first choice on these ships.
However they dont have the automatic cabin, bathroom and balcony doors that Iona and Arvia have, and the sloping cabin floor up to the balcony door, and the ramp down to the balcony floor are a bit of a trial for wheelchair users, and although some of the doors to the promenade deck are automatic, some are not, which is one reason we now prefer Iona and Arvia along with the extra dining and entertainment options, and the way bigger in cabin TVs.

I can see some of the problems now that are not always obvious to able bodies .
One big problem on Azura was the ability for wheelchair users to get a lift at evening dinning from deck 10, C deck. There were 3 wheelchairs waiting for lifts down which all came full. I ended up telling them that the next lift going up to get in, and then they will be in for the ride down to the Oriental resturant on blind deck 6 aft.
