In short, read the bl@@dy brochure or website. Understand things like dress code, dining options, drinks packages etc and choose a cruise line that suits you. Don't expect them to change the rules to suit you.

Here I am agreeing with you again! Don't worry, it's only a phase. Once the meds kick in it'll pass. ;)

On our first cruise with P&O I, like most of you, read every page of the brochure until I almost knew it off by heart. The ship was the Adonia, not the last one, the one that was a sister ship to Oceana, which was originally Sea Princess. So because there were other ships of the same design, the Sun Class ships, still sailing with Princess, I looked at the entries for those ships on CC so found out even more about the design of the ships. It still amazes me that people write on the internet saying that they've booked such and such a cruise and is there a dress code on that ship. Why on earth do people spend a large amount of money on a holiday somewhere where they have no idea what they're booking? Then as Mervyn says, they complain that they don't like this or that and do they really have to abide by the rules.

When we were on one cruise a fellow guest complained that they didn't realise the ship didn't have a covered pool and were surprised to discover (once they had boarded) that the itinerary had so many sea days. There's not reading the brochure and REALLY NOT READING the brochure!
