OBC - anyone been given more than originally stated?

Unread post by Emrobo »

When we pre-registered for our cruise next day we were given £25 each (four of us so £100) due to our future down payment which we did on Oceana in March.

Our registration notice said £25 under each of our names, and now I have the booking confirmation it says the two adults have £50 each and the children have £25 each (£150). We haven't opted for OBC - we opted for coach transfer and it says this on booking confirmation.

I know it is only and extra £50 but will it be honoured or do I come clean? Should I take confirmation with us to show the extra amount when we sail?

Presumably it was a Vantage fare, so if the price was reduced after your initial registration and booking, you would have been awarded extra OBC to compensate. They would normally advise you, though

That was my thought, but a) we haven't been advised, b) it is for next year and the prices were only released in April so I am confused at the moment

I see why ! Is it a 14 nighter ? If so, you should have had the £50 from the outset so maybe they underpriced the OBC at booking ? Clutching at straws here !

no just 7 nights so the £25 is correct. Don't know whether to just see what they say when we check in and take that with us!! :)

Yes hubby has already said where he will spend it - in the bar!!

It is very strange either way and I guess until we get on the ship we won't really know what the exact amount is

I seem to recall that there have been times when there has been some "extra" OBC given to previous passengers - perhaps this is the case here?

I have just returned from an Arcadia cruise. I was given £75 obc. when Vantage fares were introduced this was increased to £195. I asked for an invoice before cruising and this had increased to £270!. I was not informed about the extra £75 so thanks very much.

Maybe the £290 obc on my next cruise will increase as well!.

We didnt get any extra however we did at time of booking get obc and free parking on vantage.
Also a couple who we know on the same cruise got obc on a getaway deal.

Dave, Are you sure that the £195 after Vantage fares were introduced was not in fact the actual increased OBC from the Vantage implementation; therefore this plus the original £75 gave you £270 in total.
