Venice departure time

Unread post by davecttr »

I was just checking my cruise personaliser for my Ventura cruise from Venice next year. I have an early departure from Gatwick and should be on the ship by lunchtime. I wonder if it will be possible to go ashore in the afternoon or will we all be trapped waiting for the muster drill? I have heard that the ship might not sail until after 8pm and it seems such a waste of a day.

Really cannot say but if the ship is sailing at 20:00 then in order to work around meal times I would expect muster drill to be no later than 17:30 (ish) which would mean that you would need to be back on board by 17:00. Cannot see any reason why you could not go ashore, after all you are not a prisoner.

We had a very early flight, ditto arrival of course, December 2011 and were allowed off without any problems whatsoever but you should ideally ensure that you have access to your cabin safe prior to going ashore.

Enjoy Venice
