Bruges on a Sunday

Unread post by Jessyr1903 »

Hi, We're on N312 at the end of May and will be in Bruges on a Sunday. We were thinking of doing it independently but as it is a Sunday, will there be much open, or do we need to book a trip in order to get into anywhere? We were thinking of chocolate factory/shops and maybe lace shop/centre. I'm assuming there will be bars & restaurants open. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

Bruges is a tourist destination and most shops and other attractions will be open on Sundays. Just use the P&O shuttle to Blankenburg, which is a very attractive seaside town in it's own right, and then catch the regular train into Bruges, which runs every 15 mins in the week. You'll need to check online about Sunday timestables. There is a bus service that runs from the rail station to the centre and back. There will be lots of other passengers doing this, who are experienced, so stick with some of them for the journey and enjoy your visit to the nicest little city in Belgium!
