We're going to Athens on our next jaunt. Last year we used the HOHO to get from Piraeus to Athens, so this year we thought we'd use the Metro.
Anyone know how long it takes to walk to Piraeus Metro station from the dock gate?

I think that I have read somewhere that it is about 15 - 20 minutes walk

We will be in Athens later this month on Azura and considering the ho ho bus, as our first choice Corinth Canal trip is waitlisted. We have been to Athens a few years ago (not a cruise) but our friends haven't. Would you recommend it, is there enough time to see the main sights? Thanks Doreen.

Yes.
Get off as soon as you Walk to the centre of the port where the ferry terminals are, which is where the Metro terminal is. Transit is quick, frequent and cheap.
A HOHO with open top is a good way of seeing principle sights from the outside, without getting worn out walking everywhere. Allow at least an hours slippage on top of your inbound time from leaving the ship before "all souls on board by..."

It's left after you leave the dock gates and a good 20 minute brisk walk.

The HOHO was just fine for what we wanted to see. It takes you up to the Acropolis. After we did that we got the other route and went into the city itself, got off and had a wander round there before returning to the Acropolis to change routes again back to Piraeus.
