New Kindle

Unread post by Dark Knight »

I have just placed my order for a new Kindle, which should arrive tommorow, to take on my cruise
I was absolutely amazed at the sheer number of titles available and the low cost of some very good books
I collect pulp fiction from the 1920's onwards and could not believe how much was available for next to nothing !!
The complete Sherlock Holmes collection for less than £1.00
the total works of Robert E howard for less than £5.00
collections by Lovercraft for about £1.00

A M A Z I N G !!!

I can see me filling up my new toy very quickly this weekend

I have just bought the Kindle Paperwhite as iPad is too heavy and useless in sun. I love it, was reading it last night in bed no light needed so hubbie not huffing and puffing about light being on   AND so many books at such reasonable prices... Great buy

I can see the attraction of the Kindle, and almost everyone seems to own one. I brought the good lady the paperwhite a few months ago. But I personally still like the feel of a proper book.

Don't forget project Gutenburg which contains many books for free including the works of Conan Doyle (Amazon charges for many books that are available free).

I just realised that my Sony PRS505 is now over 4 years old and still going strong (one of the last eReaders to be built for quality rather than price).

There are a couple of sites I use for "free" ebooks .. both of which have been very reliable.
Talk to a couple of members of the FB group and they should be able to tell you them.

PS: If you do start getting books from other sources I strongly recommend the Calibre software to manage the library.
