Please suggest (maximum of 5) any areas of the cruise holiday that are of little value and should be ignored.

Ah. I suppose what is meant by 'areas'. Ok then:

Dress codes.

There has always been one great annoyance for me on board just about every ship I have sailed in and that is the constant use of canned music in every area of the ship during the day.

I seem to spend the first few hours on board every ship looking for that relaxing and quiet area where I can have a cup of coffee or G&T and sit and relax with a good book. :silent:

In the past I used to head for the evening disco bar where during the day no one frequented and was normally a peaceful haven, but sadly they appear to have caught up with me, even there, and now pipe in the music there too!!

I've not found that much on P&O but I think it varies from ship to ship. Azura was especially bad.

On one cruise they continually played versions of 'Wonderwall' and 'Eye of the Tiger' done to swing .. they were hilarious ... I managed to find downloads of them to add to my 'joke music' collection.

On the topic of background music, the last time we were on Azura we loved going to the show lounge at the back to have a drink after dinner and wait for the show. It was usually a pleasant experience with a lot of conversation and chat and laughter with fellow passengers ... until the day they allowed the resident DJ control of the volume.

On that day the background music was so loud that people could not talk and most people were sitting there with long faces ... totally destroyed the atmosphere .. fortunately the next night it was back to normal.

One thing that there seems to be some consensus on is that nobody is interested in the photographs.

That certainly appears to be the case David.

Whilst people are prepared to pay the prices they will continue to charge them. I feel sure more people wold buy them (and have their photos taken) if the prices were lowered.
