Re: Hamburg
It depends on the Terminal ....
* The regular one is about 20 minutes walk from the Main Railway Station.
* Consider using the HoHo buses and buying a ticket in advance.
* P&O do, did, a ' stop and drop ' trip to the top ten City Tourist spots.
* Consider a P&O trip to medieval Luneburg or Lubeck of marzipan fame.

Re: Hamburg
Hi Everyone, I have been into Hamburg a couple of times by ship. I have used both terminals - Altona (which is a bit further from the town centre) and Hafen City - still under construction last time we were there. If you wish to walk into town it's not that far really, and not hilly either.
Try walking into town and from the Rathaus you can easily start the walk around the lake - but beware it takes quite some time. Alternatively, you can always have a nice walk and find the 'old buildings' which were not damaged in WW2. These are not simple to find, indeed the 'Widows Apartments' are now surrounded by newer buildings and are not visible from the street - you need to know where they are.
If anyone wants to have directions, PM me and I'll tell you how we get there. Hamburg is a nice 'sail in', past the Airbus factory etc.

Re: Hamburg
We docked in Hafen City, which was about a 20 minute stroll or easy bus ride into the centre. Don't miss Miniatur Wunderland... it's actually near where the ship docks. It's an amazing model land, with trains, boats, cars, and even an airport. I'm not really into such stuff but tagged along with OH, and had to admit it was truly amazing. If you find them online you can book a backstage tour, which lets you jump the queue into the building. so really worth it.
