Has anybody used Denrus Tours in St Petersburg? Are they reliable and value for money?
Thank you in advance

We used SPB Tours for a two day tour of St Petersburgh (there were 6 of us) & they were excellent, also good value compare to the P&O tours :D

Haven't used Denrus, credit lady, but we used TJ Travel a couple of years ago. There were four of us and we had a six-seater, air-conditioned Mercedes with driver and guide for $200 each for the two days. We could not recommend them highly enough and have done so to several people since then. They have all come back from St Petersburg with glowing reports.

Romig and Wina had a similar experience with SPB and there are others - they all seem to give an excellent service at a reasonable cost.

I seem to recall that I once read if P&O use Denrus for some of their organised tours then Denrus wouldn't accept a private tour :think:

That was true in the past Wina but of late they have been doing private tours.

We used Anastasia when we went to St Petersburg (same cruise as Wina) and they were excellent.

A few points to consider;

1. Email as many as you can find in see what their "basic" itinerary and price is.

2. Do not pay anything before arriving.

3. Make sure that you are dealing with a Russian company (there are some non Russian companies operating who will want paying beforehand)

4. Arrange the itinerary so that you are in St Petersburg at the end of the tour - just in case there are traffic problems as you do not want to miss the ship

Hi, We used Alla Tours - 10 of us in an air-conditioned Mini-Bus, 2 day tour at a fraction of P&O prices. Payment not due until 2nd day. Fantastic 2 day tour.

There is/was also a company called Red October which always seemed to get good reports. If you google "St Petersburg tour companies", you should get web sites/email addresses for all those mentioned so far (including Denrus!)

Another fairly major benefit of using a private tour company is that, as a "small party" you walk straight past all the queues for the major attractions - no waiting at all, so you see much more in the time available.
