Just looking at the cruise ship schedule for our visit to Dubrovnik.
Four ships in that day with a total of 9000 passengers.
Help

Will look at excursions I think , maybe a trip to Cavtat is called for.

That will all be coming to an end soon when they start restricting the number of visitors per day to around 3k - although is not like cutting off the hand that feeds you?

If it is anything like the attempts in Venice then it could be a long way off!

Lindsy,
Lovely excursion to Cavtat, we loved the place, just catch the ferry and do it on your own, far cheaper.

I read that as well David, and rightly so in my opinion.
I don't know if the folk who depend on tourism would agree but something needs to be done.
3K per day will rule out all of the larger ships.
Empty vessels .. and all that

we were there a couple of weeks ago - on Oceana- so well within the 3K limit.

It was still crowded, but no worse than a UK shopping street on a Saturday! More would have been unpleasant.

The main problem was - as it always has been - was the shuttle bus organisation ( or more like, lack thereof). There just isn't space for all the coaches - it was chaos with one ship-worth, I dread to think how it would be with umpteen........

I agree .... do a DIY boat trip from the harbour ( taken from the furthest point from the archway at the entrance / exit ) to Cavtat. It is also easy enough, albeit using Kuna, to do the return trip on the local bus should the boat queue seem excessive.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

Cavtat is very pretty, well worth a visit. Remember having a delicious ice cream there - needed Kunas in the shop
