Not sure what is happening with Carnival shares at the moment but they seen to be taking something of a hit - down to 1300 today. Not heard of any bad news on the Carnival front

There seems to be several events helping to drive it down
https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/07/ ... -dropping/

RCI and NCL are not being hit as bad.

Did you have to do as I did David and send off proof of your share certificates to get the extra OBC.

That depends on whether or not you hold the actual paper share. When I had the physical paper share I didn't need to send it off because the register could be checked and they could find my name on it ... I have since lodged the shares within a broker account, so it appears that the broker owns the shares ... since then I have had to print off a statement and attach that to the email (after blacking out irrelevant information).

I request my broker to send confirmation of my shareholding, along with the cruise details I give them, to the shareholder benefit e-mail address. Just had mine added for a June cruise.

The hot weather seems to have been good for Carnival shares today - up 8% and hardly any movement. Let's have more hot days please :sarcasm:

It’s about time. I was starting worry for a minute that I might have to send Mrs S out for a fourth job.

Did anyone else see Paul Ludlow on the news this morning. First he was asked about the confusion of P&O Cruises with P&O Ferries and said yes it was a difficult time but said that it enabled them to ensure that people now the two companies are completely separate. He was then asked about numbers. He said that the ability to go on a cruise without flying was certainly making more people think about taking a cruise from Southampton. Ludlow also said that on the most recent Iona cruise over 50% of passengers were first time cruisers. He did admit that there had been problems with staffing and that the company were not able to offer everything that repeat passengers were accustomed to but that things were now improving and he hoped that through the summer holidays things would be back to what the passengers expect.

I am surprised that either P&O Ferries or P&O cruises has not been asked to change the name.

I would have thought that but for many years they have been different entities. P&O had all sorts of companies under their umbrella: Bovis, Sutcliffe catering, Buck & Hickman.
I suppose it’s no more confusing than Rolls Royce cars & aero engines and as for Budweiser…!
Our family has had long association with P&O & we still point out the old house flag on P&O ferries lorries- even though we know it’s a different company.
