Ventura - Spain and Portugal

#1

Post by Jan Rosser »

Well I’m off tomorrow on a 10 day cruise with the family - itinerary is Santander/Vigo/Porto/Lisbon (overnight stop) and Guernsey. We’ve all done our tests and thank goodness all negative so it’s now safe to lock the cases!

I’m travelling to Southampton by coach in the morning - meet up with the gang from up north sometime in the afternoon. My 15 year old granddaughter is sharing the cabin with me - she tells me she’s packed 12 dresses plus goodness what else so between us we’ll fill the wardrobe

I feel a bit happier about this cruise than the Easter trip although will be wearing a mask on the coach and wherever else it’s needed. Still wary and some people from the forum coming back and being infected is something to try and avoid.

Looking forward to sailing on Ventura again - it’s been a while

Enjoy it. We did an almost identical trip late June and had a great time. We’d not been on Ventura in the past and were pleasantly surprised. In some respects we prefer her to her sister. Porto is lovely. Guernsey looked splendid as we closed in early morning, sniffed a couple of times and then turned around and sailed away. We’ve been scheduled for Guernsey three times and have yet to set foot ashore!

If you are the grandmother I think you are Jan you will be leaving some of your stuff in the suitcase if it means accommodating your granddaughters needs :)

Have a lovely cruise Jan, you should certainly have calm seas on this cruise.

Have a great time Jan.

The itinerary sounds very similar to our 2024 ten day cruise on Ventura.

Have a great time Jan.
we did this cruise late June early July and Mrs Barney says it’s the best so far.
We had a great time and did get off in Guernsey.
Porto was the highlight.
A flight of Port to remember for 5euros.
Excellent 👍
Empty vessels .. and all that
