Sintra or Obidos for Lisbon

Unread post by Whynd1 »

Hi

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on either of these two excursions . We will be visiting Lisbon in early June and have been several times before, so were looking at these two excursions but cannot decide. I don't remember seeing the Obidos one before. Many Thanks

You could add Cascais to that selection, a pleasant seaside town of character which you get to by taking a short journey on the train.

Sintra has a lovely Palace to visit but the surrounding streets although ok had, for us, less appeal.

Obidos is a beautiful and historically interesting village, it is also photogenic but hilly and cobbled.

Depends on what you enjoy, can only say that you cannot really go too far wrong with any of them but my own choice by some distance would be Obidos.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

The train ride along the coast to Estoril and Cascais is worth the fare alone and the station is close at hand so a very easy and rewarding diy day out.

I remember seeing something in the P&O blurb about a new excursion from Lisbon to a nature reserve. Is that in the book yet ?
