Ah but the main point that you are missing is

in London and the South East
and as you well know the little southern snowflakes must not be inconvenienced because nowhere else matters.

I predict the worst is now over, with a gradual reduction in cases to a potential longterm acceptable level.
The question is, what is acceptable, who decides what is acceptable and how much effort will be needed to keep it acceptable

Yesterday the media were reporting that 20% of forecourts in London and the South East had run out of fuel. Which means that 80% hadn't. Which of course isn't much of a story.

That’s still quite a big story.

As I have said many times before the number of "cases", which is actually the number of positive tests, is a meaningless number - the more important figure is the number of hospitalisations and I still believe that anyone who is hospitalised and has not been vaccinated, assuming that they are able and eligible to be vaccinated, should pay for their treatment.

The same question I guess as any illness. What is an acceptable number of people dying from flu, cancer, heart disease, mental illness etc? And what is an acceptable amount of money to spend on the NHS to tackle those illnesses. Or an acceptable amount of tax to fund it? No simple or universally agreed answer I suspect.

As long as the shortages are only in the south east, that's fine with me.😉😇

Of course it was 😅😅

So I'll revise my analysis. The ongoing problem in the Sourh East is they have bigger lawn mowers than anyone else.

And are selfish enough to use them when others are desperate for fuel!

Is southern grass still growing strongly in October? Must be due to climate change.

That’s as bonkers as saying that everyone outside of London and the south east has a mean spirited chip on their shoulder

Glass half full or half empty?

And in most other places it was pretty much back to normal. As I was out and about every garage I passed was open, had fuel and only had the usual two or three cars filling up. No queues. No panic. No problem. No story.
Still plenty of shortages in Hampshire. The motorway services were either out of fuel or limited to HGV diesel yesterday.

We are currently in Hampshire, and the garages that have fuel (most) certainly know how to exploit the situation with their prices.

We were in Herefordshire over the weekend,a garage in Bodenham charge £1-47.9 for Diesel. Extortion. Our local filling stations charge £1-36.9
