My brother in Devon was a big fan. He'll be saddened too.

Listening to this story
https://uk.news.yahoo.com/frustration-r ... 41462.html
I am starting to think that it is time that the unvaccinated got turned away from hospitals until this crisis is over.

Not a bad idea, but it will never happen.

Amazing true story.
I was chatting with my next door neighbour yesterday who confessed that his grand daughter along with his son in law are unvaccinated.
His grand daughter is an A&E nurse.
She’s now got a big decision to make about whether she wants to continue in her job.
He told me that she’s currently minded to leave rather than be vaccinated.
Unbelievable !

Arguably with that attitude should she be in nursing at all?

I cannot see what the problem is with front line medical staff having to be vaccinated - there are many occupations where you need to have certain vaccinations, the medical profession already being one of them.

She is late twenties and still lives at home, so has few financial responsibilities.
Still a strange choice should she go down that road given the training etc to get there.
My brother knows a lady who was a care home manager who refused vaccine and now works in the local chip shop. Still unvaccinated I presume.

I see France is playing petty spite politics again. Obviously France doesn't already have Omicron and neither do any other EU countries.

I hope their counting is accurate. If not, throw the book at them. I'd have more respect if they said 9,000. They're just taking the p*ss.

It would serve them right if the government said okay then, Covid passports all round or play behind closed doors.
Prem League clubs can randomly select 9,999 season ticket holders for permitted entry, the remainder will be refunded and the pay on the day turnstiles will be closed. Will you be taking the p*ss when you drive to Leek at 29 mph ? ;)
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

It is a "cunning plan" so that we cannot send illegal immigrants straight back :sarcasm:

Do we have to accept them in the first place if they haven' filled in a Passenger Locator Form?

Neighbour opposite arrived back from Tenerife last night.
No car on the drive this morning.
Aren’t arrivals from abroad supposed to isolate for two days before getting a negative pcr test ?
Maybe it’s all changed again.

Perhaps the car's been nicked? Or they've been invited to a party at No 10?

We're among those doing exactly what Chris Witty and the other boffins are saying. We're prioritising what we really want to do over the coming weeks to minimise risk. So it will be essential shopping, medical appointments, grand child sitting and a small family gathering (five of us) on Christmas Day. Pubs, restaurants and the rest can wait. And we're not clubbers or big sporting events types anyway.

I was boggled when I picked the grandchildren up from their schools yesterday by the complete tosh I overheard from other gathered parents. All along the lines of "my friend's third cousin's milkman used to be a doctor and he says....." and "I've researched it thoroughly on Twitter and Facebook and all these so-called Professors and Doctors are all lying to us."

Sadly even my next door neighbour is firmly anti-vax because "I don't want anything untested in my body". Quite apart from the clinical trials pre approval, with billions of doses now administered the real world testing is pretty conclusive. He's even in denial about a fit unvaccinated 40 year old locally who died of it.

That has to be comedy gold. If they get admitted to hospital they usually end up begging for all sorts of concoctions to be pumped into them that make the vaccine look like a sip of water.

There was a reported case in Missouri where a lady refused the vaccine because she was a vegan, she ended up getting COVID and was very seriously ill, her vegan principles went out the window as the hospital pumped her full of all sorts of animal based/tested medications. I don;t think she made it.

So according to the French Prime Minister "Omicron spreads "extremely quickly" in the UK" - only in the UK? Does it not spread just as quickly in France, or does it slow down when in Europe?

It's the usual issue. We test twice as many as France and DNA sequence more samples then the rest of Europe put together. So they actually don't have a clue how many cases they have.

I think the French PM is right, Omicron must be pooped after crossing all that water.

In the news tonight - China has now recorded 100,000 cases of Covid since the outbreak started two years ago, yes right we all believe that one.

I suppose if you don't test people then you will not get many reported cases - perhaps we should cut back on the number of tests that we do so that our numbers will fall in line with other countries.

Frustrating isn't it? Elsewhere I've seen people saying France has blocked travel because they're getting (slightly) fewer cases per day and very few Omicron. Given they test half as many as us and sequence very few, quelle surprise!

Well done to the Lib Dems
Mid term election so not overly surprising apart from the size of the a$$ whipping the conservatives got.
Seems like a disgruntled electorate

... or an apathetic electorate - the turnout was down by about one third.
