Comrade Putin has put his Nuclear deterrent unit on standby. Why? I don't think he needs to worry about incoming unless he pressed the button.
Sounds like bluster to me. Our nuclear deterrent is surely always on standby, with one of the subs always at sea. I would assume theirs was too. You don't get much time if the other side fires first.

ICBMs can get up to a top speed of four miles per second in about 10 minutes after launch, meaning the weapons could potentially reach the UK from Russia within 20 minutes.

Apparently Russia has been preparing for invasion of Croatia for months, with tanks backing up the troops. Only one minor set back, did someone forget to stock up with diesel.
Don't worry, be happy

If you live South of Cumbria, you should be safe from Russian Land based Nukes as their range is about 3,500…Where does Foxy live? ;) :)

Putin has totally lost the plot ... he is about as close to reality as Moscow is to Siberia.
Mind you Roger Gale isn't too far behind him ... "rescind all visas for Russian citizens and send them home" .. have you ever heard so much nonsense ... the propaganda war will be won by getting the Russian people on the side of sanity, rather than under the veil of madness that Putin lives under.

Might be a good idea to buy some shares in executive jet rental companies, now that the EU, and I hope the UK as well, have banned all Russian registered planes from European air space.

I know Utd tore up the contract with Aeroflot, but i cannot understand the reason for using them as their carrier, apart from the money.! Such a dreadful safety record.

What an absolute mega leader Volodymyr Zelenskiy has proven himself to be. A brave man leading the defence of his country, that has got his country and international opinion behind him ... compared to Putin barking orders and threats as he cowers in his golden palaces.

I cannot see a way out of this - Ukraine and Russia are polls apart with any solution. Putin wants to annex Ukraine and Ukraine wants Russia out of its country - there is no middle ground. The Russian people are not up for this war but I cannot see any way that they will be able to change Putin's mind and certainly not remove him from office.

I'm too old for call up. I will however put myself foreword to make sure the ladies are tucked up safely at night. I'm selfless like that

Spot on!!! The Russian propaganda machine tried to discredit him by saying he had left the country only to be made to look foolish when Zelensky did a selfie from the streets of Kyiv. He has shown himself to be a true leader.

A remarkable man perhaps but possibly one who sadly will be having an encounter with an umbrella or a bottle of perfume anytime soon.

It would be awful if that were to happen but if it did then I feel sure NATO would have to take military action as you can’t have a nutter bumping off leaders as and when he pleases.

NATO would look away and Boris would send a strongly worded letter ... there's far too much at stake to take the Russian on.

It was interesting to here the guardian reporter's comments on politics live today, about the differening view of nuclear weapons the Kremlin has to the West. Whereas we view them as the ultimate deterrent, they consider them as a tactical option in warfare.
A very frightening thought.

Another frightening thought is the possibility that Volodymyr Zelenskiy gets a box of Keefy's chocolates through his letter box.
