And how did he check into the hotel with guns and knives?
How many hotels have you stayed in where they scan your luggage?

It will be hailed as a great, fantastic, success...you Betcha it will…the firm wouldn’t have it any other way…those of a more sensible disposition will see it as a complete waste of money.

None that are hosting the President of the US and his top team for a dinner. Shouldn't that make a difference?

But from what I have read there were metal detectors at the entrance(s) to the venue but by then he was already staying in the hotel.

Just another American cock up - they stopped him before he could get to Trump!!

Anyway if the rumours are to be believed it was all staged to deflect from the war with Iran, otherwise why would anyone say "I stayed around to see what was happening" when gunshots were being fired?

Instead of having a vote on what Starmer knew or didn’t know perhaps the time could be better used having a vote on whether or not cameras should be allowed into the chambers…our political system has descended into a soap opera with the main characters all trying to showcase their leadership potential by undermining anything the government puts forward. Cameras in the debating chambers have created a platform where the actors perform for public votes not for the best interests of our country, imo.

Did anyone see the report last night about Mini Markets, and trading standards officers getting threatened with physical abuse, rape and crimial damage to their property for investigating illegal trading offences. Was it a coincidence that all those filmed making these threats were of an eastern Europe ethnic origin? As I was saying a couple of weeks back this is getting totally out of hand and needs sorting ... .send in the SAS or similar and close (without trial) any shop that is found to be abusing this country's laws. As for those committing these crimes have them disappear because I for one won’t be asking any questions as to where they’ve gone.

If the BBC can do this why can't the authorities? Seems to me that locking him and his associates up would go a long way to "smashing the gangs"

The UK is becoming the biggest importer of crime and we only have ourselves/the government/s to blame for it. We should do what Trump has been doing with his mass ICE deportation policy, especially with regard to known criminal hubs which are turning this country into a lawless cesspit of criminality

They’ll soon be back on our streets with most only serving half their sentence…a more sensible approach would be to give them a two week sentence in which they get taszered twice a day.

Does anyone else think that this debacle with Starmer is more about some MPs thinking that they may get thrown off the gravy train than what is best for the country?

I am no particular fan of Starmer and certainly not the Labour Party but Starmer is being made a scapegoat for the outcome of the recent elections - I doubt that the outcome would have been any different if there was anybody else at the helm - it is the mood of the country at the moment, added to that many who voted at the local elections voted on national issues and not local issues.

The last is certainly true. We only had one election locally, a by election for a Town Councillor (which has the status of a Parish Council). The winning Reform candidate was from out of town and knows sweet FA about local issues.

Yes’ that’s exactly what I think…I will go further and say I think he has introduced some good policies…those who think Reform is the answer, then think again, because those who voted to get Labour out are the very people who will get Sh*t on if Reform ever gets in.

He has introduced quite a lot of policies increasing the spend on the poorest in the country, many of them aimed at bringing children out of poverty, his claim not mine. Unfortunately most of these are not popular with the the average working man, who thinks poor families living on the bread line should limit the size of their families, so they can live within their means. None of these policies are doing anything to help the economy to grow, but Starmer still thinks the govt should spend even more on the poorest when there is little or no growth in the economy, resulting in even less to spend on investing in growth. In fact his latest splurge of largesse in nationising British Steel is rather like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
